The Silk Jewelry line is inspired by jewelry worn by the Krobo Tribe living in Ghana during girls coming of age ceremonies. Susan has taken the elaborate adornment worn by these women and created a lighter weight version that is softer and more subtle in texture. The silk threads are hand dyed using natural dyes then and crocheted around wooden beads with turquoise pieces incorporated into the work.
